Business Description

Wesfarmers is the largest conglomerate operating in Australia and New Zealand. The company operates in four segments: Retail, Insurance, Industrial and Other. The Retail segment includes Coles, Home Improvement and Office Supplies, Target and Kmart. The Insurance segment includes specialist rural and small business regional insurance; general insurance through broking intermediaries; and insurance broking services. The industrial segment includes resources; chemicals, energy and fertilizers, and industrial and safety.

Latest Results

For the six months ended 31 December 2018, Wesfarmers Ltd revenues increased 4% to A$14.39B. Net income before extraordinary items increased 59% to A$1.08B. Revenues reflect Bunnings Australia and New Zealand segment increase of 5% to A$6.91B, Comp. Store Sales (Growth - %) -Target increase from -6.5 to 0.5%, Retail Sales-Office works increase of 8% to A$1.1B. Net income benefited from Impairment of plant.
